Summary: The client is a Fortune 500 company in the telecommunications industry which is a manufacturer of switches and sells Centrex Groups to its small to mid-size customers. They want to differentiate themselves in the mid-size market segment by offering value added features to their Centrex customers.

Business Objectives:
        »   Create a desktop that is available to the Centrex customers where they can control and operate their Centrex group.
        »   Offer an automated billing system that the customers can use to further bill their customers for the calls made through the switch. (Note that the customers are usually large hotels, resorts etc.)
        »   Offer a traffic monitoring system that the customers can use to monitor call usage and performance.

Solution:
        »   DCR designed and developed a real time client server solution that connects the users to the switch and provides features like traffic monitoring, call record tracking and billing.
        »   The technical architecture team designed a distributed fault tolerant system which allows controlled access of the switch data in real time and enables the users to access the data from the local database if data is available locally.
        »   The billing system was designed to decipher the Bellcore format for the Call Detail Records and gave the customer the flexibility to adjust prices to maximize revenue.
